The St. Michael’s Fellowship is brought together by Mark and Jennifer Newsome and their family. Mark and Jennifer have lifelong ties in the Anglican Church and strong roots in Alamance County. Having for many years attended traditional and conservative Anglican Churches outside the county, they now have a growing family of three young children and feel a strong call to explore whether a traditional Christian and Anglican presence is needed in Alamance County. Trying their best to live into that call, Mark and Jennifer have organized the Fellowship to test the waters and see where things might lead. At the very least they would like to make some new friends who share their love for life and for Christ and at the most would dream of seeing things evolve into a thriving traditional Anglican community in Alamance County (and maybe building a church like the one in the picture above).

Mark and Jennifer and their children, Veronica, 5, Cecilia, 3, and Thomas Becket, 1, are official members of St. Gregory’s Anglican Church in Durham. St. Greg’s is a mission of the Anglican Church in America’s Diocese of the Eastern United States. Mark serves on the Executive Council of the Anglican Church in America. He was born in Burlington and grew up in northern Orange County. Jennifer was born and raised in Raleigh. While they have lived in places as far flung as Bozeman, Montana, they consider Burlington their home. When they have a free minute, both are avid readers and argue over their divergent tastes in books. When they have two free minutes they like to spend them in Beaufort, NC and when they have three free minutes they like to spend them in Boone. If they ever get five free minutes they would like to go to Bozeman again.

In true Alamance County style, Jennifer works for Mid Carolina Bank and Mark is the Controller at Alamance Community College.
